Omega Healthcare is a Midwest based health care organization dedicated to hospice care.  We provide compassionate care and expert pain management to people nearing the end of their lives, as well as supporting their families and friends.  Our approach is holistic, with a team of professionals serving patient's medical, emotional and spiritual needs.  Omega Healthcare of SW Missouri began operation in the Springfield area in 2009, serving a 21-county area surrounding Springfield and Joplin.  Our goal is to inform and educate the community as well as the medical professionals with whom we interact that hospice is NOT what it used to be.  Hospice is not a "death sentence" but rather quite the contrary.  Patients with a terminal diagnosis that receive hospice care live, on average, 29 days longer than those who choose to forego the benefit. With the care and compassion of Omega's interdisciplinary team, we can provide comfort care, pain management, transportation, homemaker services, medical equipment, nutritional and incontinence supplies and medication management for the patient as well as financial and emotional relief for the family with bereavement support for them after the patient has passed.
